Brick walling can make a significant impact out the front or back of your home with options on retaining walls, raised flowerbeds, pillars, piers and boundary walling. We provide a range of bricklaying options to help with these types of building work.
Brickwalling by Select Paving is erected using either stock bricks or facing wall bricks. It can be erected as a 9-inch wall (using two bricks side by side) or a 4-inch wall (single skin wall).
Stock bricks are made from denser clay and are more robust than facing bricks. This makes them an excellent choice for load-bearing walls or pillars, whereas facing bricks are available in a broader range of colours and texture finishes but do not support the same load capacity as stock bricks.
For walls that will be retaining high-levelled areas, we recommend an interior concrete block against the area that is being retained and a 4-inch brick in the front to tidy it off.
Any free-standing wall which is not tied into any other structure, should have a brick pillar tied into either end to ensure its long term stability.
You can also opt for multiple pillars along the wall for decorative purposes or to support a fencing structure that might also be installed into the wall.
We offer other options outside of standard brick walling, which include Connemara Walling and Hallmark Walling for customers that would like a different type of finish on their walls.
